Happy Whalidays from Whales And Games! Take it chill and enjoy the snow!

On a cold day like this, you can take it chill and stay inside! Gladly, you can still enjoy the snow without having to be out in the cold! ☃️ Whalechan got herself a huge snow globe of Stonehedge from Townseek, while Polite Whale went inside it to swim in the snow! She also prepared a plate of cookies for her friends and hers to enjoy! 🍪 What a better way to enjoy the Whalidays than seeing your friends and family having fun? 🌟

Speaking of the snowy season, Happy Holidays and Season’s Greetings from our all of our team and friends at Whales And Games! 🎄 Just like Whalechan and her friends, we wish you a heart-warming time celebrating the season. Be it together with your family, friends, loved ones, or even by yourself, we hope you have a lovely time. And if you’re on the other side of the world, even without the snow, you can always enjoy the hot sand and the peak of summer! 😎

As it’s our yearly tradition, we’ve drawn a new artwork to celebrate the season! Enjoy the snow and take it chill! ❄️

An artwork celebrating the Whales And Games Holidays season for 2024! The artwork shows a festive indoor scene, focused on a big snow globe featuring a miniature version of the town of Stonehedge.

Outside the globe, Whalechan, wearing a red sweater, gazes in delight at it while touching the side where Polite Whale, dressed as an elf, touches back from the inside. Behind her, Dapperfish peeks from a stocking, nibbling on a candy cane.

Inside the globe, Polite Whale joyfully plays in the snow near Capt. Jawline. Mr. Moe, wearing a Santa Hat and a scarf, sips hot cocoa besides his town, which is shaped as a thinking stone face. The game's airship carries reindeer above the town.

Outside the globe, Crabpin drinks milk besides a plate of cookies. Through a window, Dapperchan, in a green sweater, also nibbles on a candy cane with a blue penguin sitting on her head. The feature text reads 'Happy Whalidays! Take it Chill!' with icy letters and the Whales And Games signature at the bottom right.

If you’ve been around for a while now, you might have noticed that we’re highlighting a different Townseek town with each seasonal artwork! This time, we’re highlighting the town of Stonehedge. We’ve previously shown it in screenshots and videos we’ve shared of the game. But since stonelings are a bunch that hardly moves, you might have missed them! But trust us, they’re a lively bunch and would love to be your friends! 🗿

Looking back to where they’ve been at, we’ve crossed many towns along our journey so far! Just two months ago, Capt. Jawline took the werewolf kids to camp nearby a mysterious town. Last year, the crew spent their time spreading lights on the electric town of Amperion, while Don Hueso partied down with flowers and candy at La Reposada. Whiskey hosted a snowball fight at Meowosville, and Whalechan splashed as a mermaid in the seas of Sharkdwell!

As we continue working on the game, and as it continues being our main project, we look forward to showing more of the towns! For now, though, why don’t we get cosy and enjoy reminiscing on previous artworks? ☕

If you feel like getting cosy and sharing the season’s wonders with others, we invite you to join our Discord server and the Cosy Cookies channel! However you celebrate, we’d love for you to share some photos or stories of how you’re celebrating with the community! It can be a gift that you received, a special dish or dessert that you’ve made, or anything else that shows how you typically celebrate the season! Anything goes for the Whalidays! 🙌

By participating in one of our server events like this, you’ll receive a permanent role for you to keep! 🎁 As long as you share some of your holiday highlights with us until the 10th of January, you’ll receive the Whalidays Merrymaker role as a gift to keep! Stick around through the upcoming new year, and you’ll be able to complete the whole set of roles by the end of it! ✨

As the holidays have come in, we’ve also had an amazing last month working on Townseek! With the renewed spirit from the awards last month, we just pushed through with our biggest milestone for the game yet! We feel like we’ve now gone through the biggest chasm of our game’s development. Carrying on with that momentum, we intended to kick off next year with a fresh look at the tasks ahead of us. As we’ve written in previous posts, we’re particularly eager about what we’ve been doing with the game’s story! 🦈

It’s been one remarkable year, and we thank you for cheering us on! Eight years later, we can’t believe we’d be sticking around and making games for this long. We’ve continued working practically non-stop on Townseek; travelled across different continents and countries; brought all of our team together in person for the first time; met many developers and wonderful teams from all across the world; posted our Whaloween and Whalidays events; and navigated many challenges behind the scenes. Through it all, we’ve persevered to continue creating a game we’re truly passionate about! 🧭
